Get connected into the life of our Townsville Church Campus
At Calvary we place incredible value on children. We share every parent’s desire to see children learn and develop in a safe, fun-filled environment.
Calvary Kids programs run during our 8am, 10am & 6pm Sunday services. Our age specific programs and curriculum are designed to foster faith and friendship in children of all ages. In all age groups, children learn about God’s love, the person of Jesus and God’s good plan for their lives.
These final years in Calvary Kids are to Boost the children towards their teenage years. The program exists to encourage who they are and bring out the best of who they can be.

Elevate is the youth ministry of Calvary Christian Church, designed for high-school aged young people to grow in faith, friendship and confidence.
Elevate runs from 7pm-9pm every Friday night during the school term. Through music, epic competitions, and a relevant age-specific message from the Bible, young people are equipped to develop a passion for God and make a difference in their world!
Elevate also meets mid-week in fortnightly Connect Groups. Groups are gender specific and provide the best space in which young people can develop friendship, grow in faith and have a whole lot fun in the process!

Our Young Adults community is filled with all types of people ranging from university students, young professionals, tradespeople and young families! We are joined by a common passion to love Jesus and transform the culture in which we live.
Our Young Adults ministry serves to connect people to God, to one another, and to an area of service within our church and the broader community. This is done through Connect Groups, Social Events, YA Collective Events, Exotic Retreats, Sunday church services and involvement in Red Frogs teams.
Further to this, every year Calvary Young Adults from across our campuses come together for our Revolution Young Adults Conference, which is one to carve into your calendar!
YA CONNECT: Run weekly/ fortnightly/ monthly and are a great way to get around people that you can do life and be yourself with. We discuss the Sunday Sermons and pull out interesting topics that each person within the group may like to discuss.
YA COLLECTIVE: Run four times throughout the year. This is where ALL connect groups get together as a ‘Collective’ to worship, pray and hear some phenomenal preaching and teaching, specifically fashioned for Young Adults!
YA RETREAT: Where all the Townsville Young Adults head to a 5-Star location to hang out and vacation, as well as hear from some phenomenal speakers.
REVOLUTION CONFERENCE: All our Young Adults from All Campuses come to Townsville for Conference

Calvary’s Creative ministry exists to help people experience the love and presence of God. By developing and expressing the creative gifts within us, we create an environment in which God is honored and people are inspired, refreshed and encouraged.
The Calvary Creative Arts team includes (but is not limited to!) sound technicians, lighting operators, video editors, musicians, photographers, artists and vocalists.
Our Creative Arts teams meet mid-week on a weekly basis to learn, rehearse, build friendships and develop our gifts.

Our Calvary Women’s ministry is dedicated to seeing the women of our church and the local community inspired to live their best life.
This powerful ministry meets weekly for Girl Time during the school term, as well as at various events throughout the year – including the annual Your Best Life (YBL) Conference – for the purpose of gathering, equipping and empowering women of all ages and stages of life. Child minding is available at all of our Women’s events.
The Calvary Women’s ministry has a strong presence in the local communities of the individual campuses, with dedicated social justice programs and initiatives to impact the world in which we live with the love and grace of Jesus Christ.
Our 50+ ministry gathers mature age professionals and retirees from within our Calvary community.
Monthly social events are held at restaurants and venues around Townsville, generally on a Friday night, Saturday morning or Saturday night. These events are the perfect opportunity to connect with friends, built relationships and enjoy some great time out together.
In addition to monthly events, we run a number of Connect Groups specifically for people in the 50+ demographic. Connect Groups meet fortnightly across the city.

Discovering Christianity Class
A 30 minute class that runs during the church service on the first Sunday of each month. Provides basic tools to empower you to grow in your Christian faith, including how to read the Bible, pray and get involved in church.
Presents the basics of the Christian faith in an informal environment (over a coffee and some supper) where you can ask questions and interact with others. Alpha runs 1 night per week over 8 weeks.
If you’ve recently joined us at Calvary, it’s natural that you may have some questions about church.
Why does Calvary exist?
What’s the history of Calvary?
What’s vision and purpose of Calvary?
How can I serve on a team?
How does financial giving work?
What are “Connect Groups” and how do I get involved in one?
What’s does “multi-campus Church” mean?
“This is Calvary” nights are designed to answer these questions so that, pretty quickly, Calvary feels like home! Held over dinner and drinks in a relaxed, relational and round-table environment, you’ll hear from Pastor James Macpherson and your local Campus Pastor, while at the same time meeting some great people from your campus.
Getting involved in a new church can sometimes be daunting. It’s helpful to know who is in leadership and how you can get involved. Our New People’s morning teas and suppers are relaxed and informal; giving you an opportunity to meet our team and find out how you can get connected in church.
We run our New People’s morning teas and suppers after our weekend services on the first Sunday of every month.
For more information fill out the form below and one of our team will get in contact with you.
Water Baptism is a public acknowledgement of a person’s faith in Jesus Christ; that old things have passed away and the new has come.
Water Baptism services are held regularly at Calvary Christian Church. If you haven’t yet been baptised in water, we’d love to journey with you as you take this next step in your Christian journey.
In the weeks leading up to our baptism services we offer a Water Baptism Class, which runs during the message in each of our Sunday services and explains baptism while answering common questions you might have.
One of the great strengths of Calvary Christian Church is our strong volunteer culture. Every week, hundreds of people across all of our Calvary campuses volunteer their time to help make our weekend services incredible.
Joining one of our great volunteer teams is the best way to get involved in the life of Calvary. By putting your hand up to serve, not only do you play a vital part in helping to make church happen, but it’s also a great way to use your giftings while meeting new friends.
You can get involved in one of the teams that make our Sunday services happen, for example our Hosts, Hospitality, and Creative teams. Or you might like to volunteer on one of our mid-week teams, such as Red Frogs, who serve in local universities throughout the week.
We value any time our volunteers give to help build the church of Jesus and we’d love to help you find a team that suits your area of gifting and availability.
